Judges 3 begins the cycle of the judges: Israel sinned against the Lord, experienced oppression from foreign nations, cried out for help, and God raised up deliverers. Othniel rescued Israel from Mesopotamian oppression, Ehud delivered them from Moab by defeating King Eglon, and Shamgar later struck down 600 Philistines with an oxgoad. Through each deliverance, God demonstrated His mercy and faithfulness despite Israel's repeated disobedience.
