1 John 2:18

We are living in a moment unlike anything any generation before us has witnessed, and the Bible has been telling us about it all along. Drawing from John's first epistle and the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24, we are brought face to face with one of the most urgent warnings in all of Scripture: do not be deceived. John writes to the early church with the tenderness of a parent, calling them 'little children,' and yet the message he carries is anything but soft. He draws a crucial distinction between the spirit of antichrist that already permeates the world system and the singular figure the Bible identifies as the Antichrist, a coming world leader whose rise is foreshadowed throughout both the Old and New Testaments. The spiritual lesson here cuts deep: ignorance is not innocence. If we do not know what the Word of God says about the times we are living in, we leave ourselves vulnerable to the very deception we are warned against. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is our discernment, but that anointing works in partnership with knowledge of Scripture. We are called not to fear, but to be awake, informed, and firmly rooted in the truth of who Christ is and what His Word declares about the days ahead.
